Each group will be assigned a song for which you will have to make a music video using “Movie Maker.” Each song contains a social message or a commentary on the events of the time in which it was written.
After having listened to the song and having read the words, try to determine the writer’s purpose, ideas and themes. Do some research into the historical era, and the cause or issue that the songs explore.
Once you have a good knowledge of the issues and their historical context, make a story board outline that you will follow as you create your video. Following this begin to assemble images, downloaded video clips, pictures and video footage of yourselves and explanatory text. How much text you will add to your video will depend on the content and the ideas in your group’s song.
Use all the editing features of Movie Maker such as special effects and transitions to make your video as professional looking and creative as possible.

·Each group will be assigned a laptop computer.
·Your video will be assembled on the laptop.
·You will create a folder on the desktop.
·All of your content (videos, text and images) will be saved to that folder as will the Movie Maker project.
·You will absolutely need at least one memory stick to back up your project folder and to transfer content from your netbooks to your laptop.
·You will use your netbooks to search for images and video and to write your text.
·I strongly suggest that you use Microsoft Word to first write your text and then copy and paste to your project later.
·You can animate and change the font style and font colour once you have pasted your text. I will show you how to do this.
